specifically in the Houston area (no further than 100 miles outside city limits) i just moved here from Ohio and i know in Ohio you can only use the boring stuff... in California you can use fountains.... but what about Texas... i heard within Houston city limits the "fun" stuff (bottle rockets, roman candles, aerials, ect) are illegal to shoot off

so basicly where am i allowed to shoot em off and what can i shoot off... do i need any permits for anything? if so where do i get em at and how much they cost?

Even bottle rockets may be legal but only with a permit. (yeah right, good luck trying to get a permit)

Everything else seems to be legally allowed.

The following link is a status list by state and type of fireworks.

In Texas, only small rockets (bottle rockets) are illegal because they are known to cause fires. I would assume that in the city limits of Houston, the aerial fireworks (go up high) are illegal to prevent fire. You just need to go outside the city into a smaller one, try and find a field and shoot them with your friends. You can get them anywhere besides big cities. They start selling them in Texas from June 24th to July 4th so you might need to wait a little while until you can get them. You wont need any sort of permit or ID. You can legally buy fireworks at the age of 12. If you just want to have fun, you are looking at around $20. I spend about $2000 but I put on a show for 100+ people. So save up some money and get some fireworks, they are so much fun!
